How To Teach Your Kids About Racism
This is a kickass children’s story about this racist tree but it also has a deeper meaning or whatever.

Effective story, they could make firewood from the tree and eat marshmallows : )
However, the Buzzfeed community misread the irony within the last few paragraphs; missing the clever social commentary “The Racist Tree” makes. Many of the posters were befuddled and posted the obvious, which was that the tree was still racist. But, thanks to the tireless efforts of one brilliant user (often mentioned as ‘The Messiah’), he was able to give the gift of understanding to the whole community. And so, even more social progress was made.
The children knew the racist tree was a phoney and was still racist, and only hiding its true feelings for personal gain. The children realized that you shouldn’t not be racist just to avoid being ostracized, but because its the right thing to do. So the children chopped down the old racist tree and had a bonfire. Because sometimes old racist trees need to make way for new, non-racist trees. And so, social progress was made.
Calvins3 I thought the same exact thing. It’s a cute story, but it’s just that: a story.
