The Emotional States Of The Job Seeking Millennial.

A millennial is a person born between 1980 and 1995, at last count there was 80 million of us. That's A LOT of competition for a job, especially, in a recession. I was lucky enough to be employed and when I thought I was in the clear-- I recently lost my job. I thought my fellow millennials would like to know it's okay to not have a job as long as you don't stop trying. But there will be a roller-coaster of emotions and ALL is absolutely normal.

At first your optimism will be at an all-time high...

You sent out your resume and your CV is lookin' good.

You get a callback and you think you have nailed the interview.

But no worries, you are still optimistic.

You finally hear back... "Sorry the position has been filled. We will keep your resume on file."

You are starting to feel some pressure. Maybe from the parents or the lover or sometimes even your friends.

You have to occupy your spare time

The pity stage has stepped in.

    Also, the angry stage.

You have time to contemplate. Where'd you go wrong?

    You're so emotional.

    You're sad.

    But like, actually, really sad.

You brush it off and try again. Your resume is gold! And you still haven't gotten a call back.

You can't help but to think

    You feel defeated and powerless.

Slap yourself out of that stage and TRY AGAIN. Make sure you don't forget...

    Just keep going!!!

    And remember this advice...

When you finally get your dream job!
