Speedo’s new LZR Racer, a seamless, high-tech, water-repellent bodysuit being championed by Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps and others, is causing a firestorm of controversy in the swimming world. Since its introduction in February, athletes wearing it have broken 28 swimming records, leading many to question the ethics of wearing the suit, even referring to it as “technological doping.”
