One solution could be for western companies to require a minimum standard of safety in order to contract with these manufacturers. Someone else said that these countries don’t have the means (at least yet) to improve conditions much, but the sweatshop owners are probably living in luxury, and it would be up to them to invest in the safety of their workers in order to maintain their business. The fashion companies could also agree to pay a bit more in order to increase safety, but the downside is if other countries can match safety standards at the lower price, the companies will move their business elsewhere.

I don’t understand why people get upset and annoyed when others ask them questions. It shows they are interested, and the answers aren’t obvious to everyone.

This is reality of late-term abortions. It shouldn’t matter whether the baby is killed inside or outside of the body, since it’s exactly the same baby. A Planned Parenthood lobbyist recently testified before Congress that if a baby is accidentally born alive during an abortion, it should be up to the doctor and the patient whether to help the baby, or just let it die outside.

The purpose was the same, whether he killed the baby inside or outside of the woman. It is still exactly the same baby.

I would equate this to refusing to stop playing russian roulette because you love the rush. It’s a death wish, so perhaps you might see a psychologist as to why subconsciously you want to die. When you contract HIV or another sexually-transmitted disease, just understand that it was a willful choice.

Sexual abuse and rape of Native American girls and women is staggering, at more than 50%. The sad thing is, it happens mainly at the hands of family members and others within their tribe. It is not prosecuted within the tribes (due to patriarchal protection of these men and inaction by tribal law enforcement), and is rarely reported to federal authorities. These women are left helpless. In this case, expanding the powers of the tribes will do nothing to help these girls because the tribal leadership have already shown themselves to be unwilling to go after a problem deeply rooted in their culture and society.
