There’s already some push back. Internet chatter has been suggesting that Lawrence’s trip-ups have been performed on purpose for attention. It seems to me that she might indeed be trying just a little too hard to present an authentic image, which of course wouldn’t be authentic at all. But she IS an actress, and it would not be surprising if she was acting off-screen as well, so as to maintain her popularity. She is pretty ubiquitous in the media though, and I can definitely see people becoming tired of her.
If I were the groom, I’d be thinking, “I’m about to marry a raging ego on two legs. This is NOT GOOD!”
This must have been more than simply teeth having been knocked out. That could’ve been fixed with a partial, and even nine implanted teeth wouldn’t cost $100,000. There must have been additional damage, and its damage the perpetrator should have to pay for. Get a judgment against him, and if he can’t pay the whole sum (not likely), take a percentage of every dime he makes for the rest of his life. He’ll be reminded of his crime every time he looks at his pay stub.
Ah yes. Frank Grimes’ incredulity about Homer and his life. I will remember it well.
Mom is hot.
Ok, FINE! While in the missionary position, I would never barely penetrate your vagina and let my penis rest just inside of you ANYWAY! Not in a million years!
Almost like she’s trying TOO HARD to sound just like Ellen Page.
#5) - “Ungmygah…HAAA ha-ha…OHHH, HO ho-ho…uhhhh, oh my ahhh AHHHHHH!”
Why hasn’t Google or Facebook been approached? They could easily fund such a project. MZ has been throwing donations around left and right.
“A panda next to a gun next to a wrapped gift? It makes no sense!” is my favorite line from the entire series.
I’ve always liked Leah. I’m glad she got away from Scientology, but I couldn’t help but shake my head in disbelief when she said she’s donated MILLIONS to Scientology. And for what? To what end? It’s such a waste. I also have to wonder why, for such a strong and successful woman, she seemingly has problems with self doubt. She quits Scientology only to look for solace with Jennifer Lopez (a celebrity with an overly-inflated ego whom I despise) and self-affirmation tapes? Everything Leah needs is already within reach — her own heart, and the love shared with her family.
I remember a philosophy course I took where we asked whether TRUE altruism really exists. That’s the kinda crap you talk about in philosophy courses sometimes. Good on these celebs.
I never cared for Seth Rogen. His voice, and especially his laugh, were torture to me. But he’s now a hero, not only because he gave testimony to Congress, but because he immediately used Twitter to call out all the congress people he met with who then didn’t stay for his testimony. They all thanked him, took pictures with him, etc….and then hit the bricks. When will I learn never to expect more from Congress?
Thems is some lovely ladies. I’m sorry that the boobs I love can often cause y’all discomfort. If there’s ever anything I can do…
All the Ayn Rand acolytes should see this AND read all the responses. I doubt it would change them, but I wish they were exposed to stuff like this all the time.
I had to stop reading this less than halfway through. All this amateur, armchair psychoanalysis of a number of very complicated strangers is more than pointless, it’s dangerous. I don’t know if Allen is guilty of the molestation of Dylan Farrow. In fact, it’s hard for me to care about the story of ONE person, or a particular family, taking up so much time, energy, and media space. This author’s intention may be better than some, but the story is ultimately no better than some trashy headline published by a tabloid. I wouldn’t want anyone to suffer the abuse Dylan Farrow described, but there are far greater crimes taking place every day, right under our noses, and most of us won’t give those a second look. But if a celebrity drives drunk or eggs a house, or yes, is accused of sexual abuse, the entire news, entertainment, and web industries will give the story near absolute attention. And, of course, earn MONEY from such coverage, mostly in the form of advertising. That just doesn’t sit right with me.
Chris Pratt was seemingly in danger of becoming quickly forgotten. I’m glad he pulled up and avoided a disastrous career crash.
Wonder if he shows the pictures he snaps to the people whose bodies he uses.
“Sanfordized” denim is denim that has been fashionably distressed by soaking it with Champipple (a cocktail of champagne and Ripple), attaching it to the back of a rickety ol’ truck, and having big dummy Lamont drag it through the junk yard. Oh Lord! This is the big one! You hear that ‘lizbeth? I’m comin’ to join ya, honey!
Unbelievably sad. And, as is common in the world of heroin when anyone dies of an overdose, other users will speculate or try to find out what “brand” PSH had been using…so they can get some for themselves. But if he wasn’t scoring on the street, somebody must know where and from whom he was getting it.
I don’t wanna add to the negativity, but “selfies” are hardly revolutionary, especially in a world where sharing tons of personal information is mainstream. As an artist, she hasn’t looked deeply enough at the issue. Some of the ways in which young people use technology are far from liberating. I think a great many people are pressured to overshare, and it’s going to bite some people in the ass.
Samantha is Tunes from “Wheels Ontario” on The Kroll Show! That’s awesome! She does a great Canadian.
The Olympics always seems to be a boondoggle. But the Sochi games has taken it to a level that’s out of this world. The word “corruption” seems inadequate to even describe the levels of criminality. I’m surprised the Russian citizenry hasn’t been more vocal. Are they too jaded about business as usual or do they fear the mother of all crackdowns if they protest?
I saw the trend years ago, shortly after the first season of The Real World on MTV. I forget the show, but a supposedly spontaneous action was caught by multiple cameras in such a way that told the viewer the action was set up in advance or at the very least repeated for the other cameras. This was in the 90s and I’ve kept that in mind ever since while watching “reality” shows.
Deep thinker? My guess is that was her attempt at being funny ironic.
Not a bad Seth Rogen. He just has to work on being 100 times more annoying.
I don’t know which is sexier…a mocha-skinned sun goddess or a fair, alabaster-skinned princess. Hell, I’ll take ‘em both.
I do not have a huge penis, despite what my results say here.
Just keepin’ it real.
Oh, but there was that period when even the NY Times failed to be critical of the war in Iraq, with Judith Miller being a virtual mouthpiece for the Bush administration. Was McCain bitchin’ about the media then?
A huge win for journalists in Colorado, even though the writer in question was attached to FOX news.
Sorry, but I’m going to preach. I think what’s really sad is that the mom here was so amazed that the man was nice and kind. She’s obviously become used to people being jerks, and sees nice people as novel exceptions. We’ve become an unbelievably rude and selfish society. People have come to see politeness and sympathy as weakness. Even when out in the world, we often remain in our own heads, paying attention only to the little screens on our gadgets. Our politicians, who should be role models and leaders, set a terrible example as to how to interact with others. People don’t even bother to keep their intolerance to themselves. Many on the right talk about America in the abstract while also denigrating millions of Americans. People on the left are just as intolerant, if not more so. If we would all just try to adhere to the Golden Rule, we’d be infinitely better off. Simply being polite is the easiest way to begin to make our world a better place.
Enough with the “yeah, but” tactic already! It never advances a debate about a given issue to say, “Yeah (A) happened over here, but what about (B) over there?” Taking that view doesn’t help to clarify or fix either issue, especially when the issues aren’t necessarily commensurate.
“I’m White Goodman, and I approve of the tactics undertaken by my good friend Chris Christie and his loyal minions.”
I hadn’t had a drink in many, many months. Although I’ve had trouble with drugs and excessive drinking in the past, and tried counseling, rehab, AA, etc., none of it helped. What happened, I think, was I just ended up “outgrowing” the need to drink or use. Just woke up one day and didn’t get high. I still had all the problems and negative feelings I had before, but I stopped feeling the need to numb my pain anymore. Just like that. Not sure why this happened, but I accepted it. Recently however, I went to a sporting event, had two beers, and couldn’t believe how they kicked my ass. I don’t know if I’ll drink again, but I now know I have to be very careful if I do. If you have the kind of track record I’ve had, you gotta keep your guard up.
Ol’ Mitt got the go ahead to build ANOTHER enormous home recently. Yes, the one with the car elevator. Our politicians should never be rich (they may not be able to be bought, per se, but would definitely go out of their way to help their rich peers) or become rich while in office or because they have been in office. All the above happens far too much in this country.
Balanced and well-written.
