UPDATE

TVLine reports that Matt Czuchry — who played Rory's ex-boyfriend, Logan — has signed a deal to return for the Netflix revival.

Below is the original story, published on Oct. 19:

In news that's sure to set Stars Hollow on fire, Netflix has reportedly ordered new episodes of Gilmore Girls from series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino, according to TVLine.

While the plan is said to be in the earliest stages — i.e., none of the cast has signed on — having Sherman-Palladino on board certainly bodes well for its chances, as does the fact that everyone (save for Melissa McCarthy) recently reunited at the ATX Television Festival in June. It was there that Sherman-Palladino teased the chances of continuing the Gilmores' story.

“It would have to be the right everything," she said. "The right format, the right timing. ... If it ever happened, I promise we’ll do it correctly.”

According to TVLine, the deal is for Netflix to produce four 90-minute episodes.

Both Netflix and Warner Bros., the studio that produced Gilmore Girls (which originally ended in 2007), told BuzzFeed News they had no comment on the revival.
