Legendary actress Lauren Bacall — best known for her work in The Big Sleep, To Have and Have Not, and The Mirror Has Two Faces — has died at the age of 89, according to the Bogart Estate's Twitter account, which is managed in part by Bacall's son, Stephen Humphrey Bogart. Bacall's reps had no statement at time of publication.

After meeting Humphrey Bogart on the set of 1943's To Have and Have Not, Bacall married him in 1945, and they had two children — Stephen Humphrey Bogart and Leslie Bogart — before he died in 1957. She later married Jason Robards in 1961, and gave birth to her third child, Sam, the same year.
While the husky-voiced actress worked steadily for more than six decades, she never garnered the kind of critical acclaim received by contemporaries like Elizabeth Taylor or Natalie Wood.
She was nominated for an Academy Award in 1997 for The Mirror Has Two Faces, and received an honorary Oscar at the 2009 Governors Awards in recognition of her contribution to cinema.
