We did not win that war by being kinder to the Axis. It was not thuggery. They were armed, they had attacked, it was a simple choice. It was not a philosophy, it was a choice of you or me. The threat today is just as difficult as then but we are hiding the size of the threat with words. But like 70 years ago there will reach a point where everyone will at last understand what we face. We will have reached that point when we are as ‘sensitive’ as we where in 1943, when we asked 16 year olds to volunteer for the Merchant Marine.

I was born in 1941, when they knew how to fight a war, they knew we would kill them all if needed. Churchill said pay them back a 1000 times, it’s either that or a hunderd year war
