    Why it's worth streaming: Who better to spend your night, day, and maybe another night at home with than the smartest high-schooler ever to exist on television? She says what you're thinking and, let's be real, you'll be doing a lot of thinking while cooped up at home the next couple days.

    Why it's worth streaming: If you haven't already burned through the beloved NBC series when it first hit Netflix on Jan. 1, could there be a better time to reacquaint yourselves with New York City's best sixsome ever? For the non-completists out there, just tune into the Season 1 episode "The One With the Blackout." For reasons that need not be explained, you'll really feel like Chandler, Monica, Joey, Phoebe, Ross, and Rachel get what you're going through right now. ('Cause they're there for you tooooooo.)

    3. Transparent

    Where it's available: Amazon Prime

    Why it's worth streaming: Amazon's first big hit — about the Pfefferman family's journey as patriarch Mort comes out as transgender — is one of the most touching, human, and fantastic projects to emerge from Hollywood in the past year. If you feel like a good cry and a hearty laugh, this one couldn't be more perfect.

    4. Xena: Warrior Princess

    Why it's worth streaming: I could tell you, or I could just leave this here. But really, this one's for those of you in need of some seriously strong lesbian subtext and some even stronger badass bitches to get you through the storm.

    5. A Different World

    Where it's available: Hulu Plus

    Why it's worth streaming: At the time, we thought this series, set in Virginia's fictional Hillman College, wouldn't survive past Season 1, once Denise Huxtable left the Cosby Show spinoff behind. But Whitley's uppity attitude, on-point ensembles, and grating voice, combined with Dwayne Wayne's lovable smile, equally on-point ensembles — those (sun)glasses — and never-ending charm, did more than just save A Different World: They made it. Also, it may motivate you to use this snow-filled time to clean out your closet.

    6. The Fall

    Where it's available: Netflix

    Why it's worth streaming: Because it is the fan fiction you never thought to write that brings Kalinda, Scully, and Christian Grey together, people. What could keep you warmer?

    7. Gilmore Girls

    Why it's worth streaming: You may be dreading having to say goodbye to Lauren Graham on Parenthood (which comes to a close this week), but the good news is, you can relive the glory of the show that introduced her to the world. There is nothing more comforting than that.

    8. Bones

    Where it's available: Netflix (Seasons 1–9), Hulu Plus (Season 10)

    Why it's worth streaming: I could tell you about Bones, but instead, I offer you the wise words of BuzzFeed's own Bones expert, Ariane Lange: "If you prefer your abrasive genius detective to be female and you like formulaic television and a satisfying conclusion to every problem, then you should stream Bones. Plus, every 45 minutes, everything gets wrapped up. Blizzards are complicated enough: Why watch complicated television?"

    Why it's worth streaming: You've only missed three episodes of this addictive Fox series from Lee Daniels and Danny Strong and there is no better time than now to get introduced to the Lyon family...and matriarch Cookie's YAAASS-worthy wardrobe.

    10. Twin Peaks

    Where it's available: Hulu Plus

    Why it's worth streaming: If you have yet to sit down and watch this beautifully bizarre '90s series that follows Agent Cooper as he investigates the murder of a local homecoming queen, this snowstorm is the perfect opportunity, particularly seeing as the David Lynch series is coming back in 2016. Plus, it's set in the state of Washington. And let's be real: Those folks have it way worse snow-wise.

    11. Freaks and Geeks

    Why it's worth streaming: We can thank this 18-episode, gone-too-soon series for first introducing us to the brilliant minds of Paul Feig and Judd Apatow. And for giving us our first look at actors Linda Cardellini, James Franco, Busy Philipps, Jason Segel, Seth Rogen, Martin Starr, and more, who went on to be some of the most successful comedy stars today. It is necessary viewing.

    12. My So-Called Life

    Where it's available: Hulu Plus

    Why it's worth streaming: Jared Leto and Claire Danes are both beautiful superstars now. But 20 years ago, they were playing beautifully awkward high school students just trying to get through the day. It is one of the greatest crimes of teen Hollywood history that we didn't get more MSCL, but, during this blizzard, it is important to be grateful for what we do have.

    13. Friday Night Lights

    Where it's available: Netflix

    Why it's worth streaming: Those who've fallen in love with Parenthood and have already stocked up on tissues for Thursday's series finale. But there is hope for you yet in the form of creator Jason Katims' football-centric but equally-feels-inducing Friday Night Lights. And the cherry on top? "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" will be the motivator to get you through the blizzard.

    14. Looking

    HBO

    Where it's available: HBO Go

    Why it's worth streaming: On the surface, Looking may seem like it'd be solely for a gay male audience, but that would be grossly underestimating one of the most relatable shows currently on television. Its characters are flawed and vulnerable — the kind that draw you into a world you may not otherwise be privy too. You may be alone on your couch during this blizzard, but you'll feel right at home watching Looking. Plus, Season 2 is currently airing on HBO, so if you zoom through Season 1, you don't have to wait months for more!

    15. Unfabulous

    Why it's worth streaming: You are probably going through American Horror Story withdrawal now that Freak Show has bid adieu, and though Unfabulous is absolutely nothing like AHS, it does feature a young Emma Roberts at her most likable: struggling through early adolescence and singing her feelings while playing the guitar. It's a far cry from "surprise, bitch," but it's fun to see the origins of Roberts' signature sass.

    16. Felicity

    Where it's available: Hulu Plus

    Why it's worth streaming: The eponymous character moved to New York to follow her dreams, and though the city that never sleeps is currently buried under inches (if not feet) of white (now probably gray) snow, Felicity will remind you of the glory days that will return when the snow melts.

    17. Star Trek: The Next Generation

    Why it's worth streaming: BuzzFeed's Adam B. Vary calls Star Trek: TNG "sci-fi comfort food." It is quintessential viewing for lovers of the genre.

    18. Smash

    Where it's available: Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus

    Why it's worth streaming: Now that the dust has settled on this much-maligned series, it's the perfect time to laugh with (and yes, at) and sing along with the show that practically got pulled off primetime with a vaudeville hook. And if you've already made it through the show's two seasons, create a drinking game to accompany your blizzard viewing. If your heat's not keeping you warm enough, Bombshell-prompted shots will certainly do the trick.

    19. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

    Why it's worth streaming: Joss Whedon at his finest and Sarah Michelle Gellar at hers. If you missed this one because you thought you were too old for it or too young for it, thought it was too supernatural for you, or you created another reason in your head to think it wasn't worth your time, you are oh so wrong. Buffy is for everyone.

    20. Clarissa Explains It All

    Why it's worth streaming: If you are a child of the '90s, chances are Clarissa inspired not just your style, but your ability to be who you are unabashedly. Sometimes, we need reminders about that, especially after spending hours home alone in the snow-induced silence. Clarissa is more than a children's Nickelodeon show. You'll be surprised how much you get out of it this time around.

    21. Roswell

    Why it's worth streaming: If you've made it through Friday Night Lights and Parenthood and you still need a Katims fix, there is always this teen drama — Katherine Heigl plays an alien in an alien-obsessed town and that is just one of Roswell's amazing qualities. Again, if you are not into aliens, that is neither here nor there, considering Katims' ability to transcend any genre bounds. The show will also make you nostalgic for the era that was the early '00s on The WB. And what could be more heart-warming than that?

    22. Orange Is the New Black

    Where it's available: Netflix

    Why it's worth streaming: As a human in the world, chances are you have watched OITNB already. But we're about halfway through the painful year between seasons of the show that put Netflix on the map and this treacherous weather week is the perfect time to reacquaint yourself with the Litchfield ladies we love to hate and love to love. And you can also be grateful that this isn't what you're doing in the snow right now.
