It's finally happened, people. Twitter has hit the criminal justice system. A tech-savvy (and kind of sadistic) judge in Mississippi is making news for his unusual decision to force a paroled convict to tweet every ten minutes as a way of updating his parole officer of his whereabouts. It's tough to know who's being punished more - the convict or whoever's following him.

Just pretend we're in an alternate reality where Jonah Peretti is interesting, and Ze Frank is still relevant. It'll make these bullshit Infectious meme posts go by quicker.
fake
I understand the rules of the Infectious “workshop,” “festival,” or “contest” (whichever you want to call it), but I'm already tired of the lame-o faux posts. If the viral web is going to consist only of outrageous claims with no basis in reality, then people are going to respond by turning their bullshit detectors up to 11. And the minute it starts to seem that most viral posts are hoaxes, that will be the minute that ALL of them might as well be hoaxes, because people will start shrugging them all off.
Ha ha ha!
…..oh….so I'm the twat in this situation. Sorry. Though thanks for explaining the Infectious thing to me. I went to the site linked to it, and it's quite possibly the most vague description of something or other I've ever seen on the internet.
Thats pretty funny.
As part of the INFECTIOUS Festival in Dublin, this is a collaborative contest to try and reach 1 million page views by the end of April. The contest is open to anyone, and the rules are simple: TRY TO MAKE SOMETHING VIRAL. This isn't real.
The criminaltweets account doesn't exist.
Am I the only one skeptical of the legitimacy of this? His name is “Prisoner #655321”, which is Alex's prisoner number from A Clockwork Orange. It's just a dumb enough reference that someone from the internet might make. To kill any suspicion post a link to something clearing all doubts.
Does this qualify as cruel and unusual punishment?
I want to follow the criminal, but can't find him. Any help?
I totally love how he's gotta use his mug shot as his profile pic!
If you can't do the tweet, don't do the crime!
