While I like Elsa’s character a lot and I think she does teach young girls and boys a good lesson (be true to yourself, etc.) it bothers me that everyone seems to have forgotten about Anna, the story’s actual protagonist. Anna is the one who does not have magical powers, but braves climbing a mountain to bring her sister home and save their city. She is also the one who saves Elsa’s life. Her character starts out as a naive love-struck princess, but overcomes that and in the end is the story’s real hero. Everyone is obsessing over Elsa because she is the prettier, sexier character, which means they’ve completely missed the point that there is finally a story about a princess who saves herself instead of waiting for her prince.
