Good job! I also got engaged in a unique way recently. I asked my girlfriend in a Jumble. (if you don't know what a Jumble is, it's a word puzzle where you unscramble letters to form words. You can find it alongside the comics in the Daily News) Anyway I thought it was a pretty cool way of doing the deed. Here are the details of my plan… I scanned in the Jumble from the paper, and recreated my own customized version. I bought real newspaper (different then newsprint) and with the help of the studio at work printed the front and back of the spread with the jumble on it replacing the original Jumble with my new version. I brought home like five papers on a Friday night since she likes to do the jumble, I told her I saved them for her and we can do them in the morning. That morning after breakfast we went through the papers one by one until we got to the “special” paper which I threw my fake spread into. She was so involved in jumble land from the first 4 papers we did that she took it hook line and sinker.
I took some artistic license and added an “S” in “yous” because I needed an “S” for the final answer which of course was “YES”. It worked out because it threw her off which caused her to fill out the last two words and then look at the bottom line where yesterdays answers usually appear. Instead of yesterdays answers it said “Yes Lauren I am asking you to marry me” . She started crying (happy tears I think:) Then I pulled out a box with the ring in it from the couch where I hid it the night before, and opened it. In front of the real ring was a paper cutout of the diamond ring illustration in the Jumble.
