Orange County High School Elects Transgender Homecoming Queen

1. Marina High School in Huntington Beach, Calif., elected a transgender homecoming queen Friday.

Transgender teen, Cassidy Campbell, named homecoming queen in Huntington Beach.

2. Cassidy Lynn Campbell, 16, says she couldn’t be herself until this year when she began living her life as a female.

3. Campbell told KTLA, “I’m so proud to win this not just for me but for everyone out there and for every kid — transgender, gay, straight, black, white, Mexican, Asian. It doesn’t matter, you can be yourself.”
