My family rescued some Eastern Cottontail babies that our family dog had injured, and did the whole bottle feeding thing as well. So what I’m about to say comes from personal experience. Unfortunately, these rabbits will now most likely not be able to survive in the wild. As adorable as they are, and as much as you want to pet them and feed them, these are actions that do more harm than good. Rabbits are prey animals, and their fear of humans, weird smells, loud noises, etc. isavery healthy survival trait. If that fear is diminished, they will not last long in the wild. SoIhope this good-hearted soldier is prepared to care for them for the next 6-8 years.
