When you hear the name Alcatraz you probably think of Hollywood action movies like "The Rock" or "Escape from Alcatraz", you might think of famous inmates like The Birdman, or maybe even of Ghost Hunters and paranormal investigations. Alcatraz Island is and will probably always be well known for being a brutal and abandoned Federal Penitentiary, but in the past 150 years it has actually been utilized for a large variety of uses.
