My family owned a gun store for decades and I haven’t ever owned a gun nor thought to use one to make a point. In my opinion, if you’re focusing on the gun, then you’re paying attention to the wrong thing. Destruction of the laptop was to show his daughter the laptop wasn’t going to be returned no matter how many times she begged. Furthermore, he took away the very thing that she abused which in my book, is good parenting. Granted, there are other ways of making that point. But this father did what he wanted to with HIS gun, to HIS laptop in dealing out HIS punishment to HIS daughter. I don’t understand how she would be traumatized other than realizing how serious her Dad is when he says to follow his rules.
