48 Thoughts Every Mom Has At Snack Time

Snack time doesn't have to be stressful. With the right ingredients, it can be fun and laid-back — just like Quaker Chewy® Caramel Apple Granola Bars.

The kids will be home soon, and they'll be hungry.

You know what? I'm gonna go on the internet and find something unique to make.

Um, why do all these recipes take so long?

Do most people own an avocado cuber?

Am I weird because I don't have an avocado cuber?

Wait, did I take out the laundry yet?

I better take out the laundry. Then I'll cook something.

Although, let's be real. There's no way I could pull off guacamole right now.

Plus, cooking something would require cleaning up...

...and the kids won't have time to help clean up, they both have book reports due tomorrow.

Wait a minute, I think I want a snack too.

I could cook pizza bites... but I keep reading about children getting 3rd-degree tongue burns on those.

I really don't want to burn my tongue.

And do we really all need a form of pizza before dinner? Be reasonable. Think.

Speaking of dinner, I'm going to make lasagna. If they fill up before then and don't eat it, I might scream.

If they're too full to eat my lasagna, I swear I will… well, I'll be really mad.

Maybe I should just send the kids to Peter's house after school; they always talk about how great his mom's snacks are.

I think she always has a snack "theme."

SNACKS DON'T NEED A THEME. I can do this.

Are they home early? Good lord, is that bus driver speeding?

I hope they're getting enough food.

And I hope they're not getting too much food… this is a hard balance.

I shouldn't have cleaned earlier, I should have waited until after they ate.

Then again, it's kind of just an endless cycle...

Aw, they look so happy.

Ugh, but now they're fighting.

Nothing laaasts, nothing lasts.

*singing* Shake it off, shake it off.

Why do I even know that song?

KIDS.

Should I be making them sit down while they eat?

I really should.

I have no idea how they have so much energy.

I love being a fly on the wall during snack time.

I wish Andrew would speak up a little. What did Katie say to the teacher?

The crumbs are out of control.

Crumbs = life. Accept it.

Phew, snack time achieved.

There's now… four hours until dinner. What a life!

OH NO THE LAUNDRY.

*Shake it off, shake it off*

*Make it stop, make it stop*

I hope the kids are really doing their homework up there.

I hope Katie's not having trouble at school.

We should have a family talk at dinner, just to see how everyone's doing.

AHH DINNER. LASAGNA.

OK, calm down.

The kids are fed. There's plenty of time. Life is good.
