This New Food Pyramid Looks Very Different To The Old One

Turns out, sugar isn't even a ~sometimes~ food.

Nutrition Australia has released a brand new healthy eating pyramid, which includes quinoa, tofu, and soy products, and completely removes sugar.

The food pyramid, which was last updated in 2007, perviously listed sugar and other oily foods as OK to eat in "small amounts", while the latest version of the chart lists them as foods that should be limited.

Earlier versions of the chart, dating back to 1986, differ even more, telling Australians to eat equal amounts of cereals and bread to fruit and veggies.

The newest pyramid, released Mondday, explains the best way to live your best ~health life~ is to favour vegetables, fruit, and legumes, with grains like quinoa, cous cous, and wholegrain cereal coming as the second most important food group.

It seems sugar's time to shine is well and truly over. It's official.
