    Post Grad Hangover

Four Years Finally Caught Up With Ya

You just graduated college and are on that everlasting hunt for a job, yet you find yourself feeling tired, disoriented and a little sick to your stomach from the stress of this dramatic change occurring in your life. I call this the "Post Grad Hangover" and it's completely normal. Some of your friends immediately sunk into their dream jobs and some settled for the routine office job for the time being. Others are still convinced they are going to famous so they are holding out, hoping that a casting director will discover them in the local mall. However, the majority of us have put ourselves out there, suffered through interviews and still aren't seeing results.

    DON'T SWEAT IT

A recent study shown in Forbes Magazine says that only "16% of graduating seniors say they have a job waiting for them" 16%! That means the other 84% are still on the job hunt, aka THE REST OF US.

Now this percentage can either be comforting or a little disconcerning. You might be thinking to yourself "Self, that means I have to compete with 84% of other kids my age. I need a beer" If this is you, here's some advice...

Use this Hangover time to beef up your resume. While writing your cover letter, use creative language to grasp your possible future employer's attention. Cover letters may be an introduction but they are also used to weed out applicants based on proper grammar usage and creativity. Relax, and don't freak out that you are unemployed…because according the previously stated statistic, you're not alone.
