Anne, while you don't seem to consider being stopped by a police officer and put in the back of a squad car and taken someplace to prove your identity being hassled, I certainly would. I'm not saying the officer did anything wrong in this situation as it isn't reported that anything done was against Dylan's will. This isn't a situation you can use to make a broad conclusion from, though. Dylan has a history of this sort of thing as no doubt you noticed when you read the full article.  Personally, though, I didn’t really enjoy back when I used to get stopped to verify my identification at least once a week on my way home from work back when I was young and working as a closer at a fast food restaurant. Sure, they always had a reason (burglaries in the area) and I was nothing but polite but yeah, I found it a hassle to have to walk home wearing my uniform so that they’d only question me for 5 minutes instead of 20. I’m white, by the way, so you’re right in noting that profiling isn’t always about race. In my case it’s was because I was 19 and had long hair (something I could change if I wanted to) and they were hoping for an easy pot bust or underage drinking.

I saw Bob about 3 yrs ago here in Tampa along with Merle Haggard, he was amazing. I think I would sit in the rain with him just to speak with him.

This doesn't make sense. After all, he's white. So why would the cops hassle him? Oh yeah—he didn't yell at them or argue with them. And so they didn't hassle him. They just asked him to prove his identity.
