According to CNN the Cash for Clunkers program is resulting in far more people trading in their old cars for hybrids and compacts, with good gas mileage the main focus. Check out their top ten list The success of the program also seems to be pushing auto sales forward, thus weakening some of the resistance in the Senate to keep the program going. If this keeps up, the Cash for Clunkers program might even get the extension that it needs to survive through September.
