I make things look pretty and speak in elaborate sentences. Often overdressed and extremely over educated. I find vice in pop culture and breath quietly in academics. I'm an Artist and a Teacher. Beware your children, I sell ideas.

“If you had a friend who was a tightrope walker, and you were walking down a sidewalk, and he fell, that would be completely unacceptable…”
I live in Detroit and I see this stuff everyday. In fact, I'm part of it, helping with design and the like when I can. Whether it's hipsters, hippies, yuppies or any other similar group doesn't really matter. Actually the community working on the reconstruction of Detroit is really diverse and the trailer does a poor job of representing that. The point is that there is a culture of people willing to stay and work on this rather than chase opportunity elsewhere. Is it going to take more than art, design, coffee shops, neighborhood farms and BBQ joints to do it? Of course, we are under no delusion that it will be easy and many days we feel like Sisyphus but we labor on in our passions and try our best to make this city a better more livable place. If you decide to visit Detroit, I would be glad to give you a tour. Added bonus: We can pick up a “Don't F*ck with me, I vacation in Detroit” T-shirt.
Matthew Z. Said that.. I'm actually from Detroit and I see this stuff every day. I'm actually a part of this movement and help out when I can with design and the like. We aren't all hipster Dbags.
She looks like Nia Vardalos.
Starting at 4.00?!?! Are there upgrades or options you can get with this? Heated buns, fancy cheese and defibrillators are extra. Does it come in red?

I love that he's not sure what to do with his hand.
I don't think tracing should detract from the end product. It's a technique not unlike cross hatching. Then again I also believe that the aesthetic rearrangement is on par with creation. For example “Girl Talk” is not a traditional musician but his artful rearrangement of pop songs could be considered original music. Moreover, I think the idea of tracing something meant to be so realistic makes sense as part of the process. We could easily dismiss a myriad of art and artist if we bind ourselves to traditional technique. A large part of the Warhol catalog wouldn't exist if that were the case. “mechanical reproduction emancipates the work of art from its parasitical dependence on ritual.” - Walter Benjamin
