    Regarding sign #19…I grew up near that sign. I always took it to mean “experiment with using your other senses”. I used to close my eyes as a kid while on the trail and wonder what it would be like to be blind. I don’t think it’s a useless sign at all. :-)

      Absolutely. It really enriches the experience to take a moment to hear the sounds of pine needles/leaves crunching underfoot, the wind rustling overhead, feel the bark, etc. Adults often forget the joy of just the sensation of touch.
