Nearly all of these posters are representations of plot or allusions to happenings in the films themselves. While graphically intriguing and fun for those of us who has seen these motion pictures, nearly all of these posters fail to achieve the purpose of a movie poster: to convey the feeling of a film. Looking at the “Iron Man” movie poster, you don’t get the feeling that it’s a high impact action movie with comic relief. In the same way, “The Hobbit” poster is a clear representation of the movie’s main action, but it fails to represent the overall feeling and tone of the film which is whimsical brotherhood and the value of an ensemble, with a pinch of action and adventure. I don’t comment often, but I would just like to contest the idea that these posters are better than the original movie posters because the movie posters do their job, where these would not.
