FREEDOM TO POLLINATE, FREEDOM TO STING

The freedom to express my non-mainstream art in the public forum is a precious and delicate thing, a rare and fruiting flower that attracts and nourishes its own special bees. They, in turn, fly free, pollinating my art, spreading the buzz, stinging conformity, nurturing art for freedom.

Greg Poppleton sings St James Infirmary his own way. Art for Freedom at the grass roots, local music level. Singing from the soul, without borrowing from contemporary blues, rock, folk or jazz. The band listens and improvise their own jazz riffs as we go. The traditional Jazz Club audience hear something spirited and defiantly different to the jazz norm and in the end are won over.
