I think the amount is justified. It might be entirely arbitrary but for a company that makes millions of dollars to create a shirt with someone likeness without their consent is a big deal. People saying it’s her/her parents fault that she’s a model what did they expect are idiots. She could be no one and the company is still misusing and profiting from someone without consent let alone a minor. Unless she has a contract with UO than I hope they win. Let UO know they can’t just steal from everyone to make their money.

These photos were NOT for Urban Outfitters. They were taken a couple years ago and the douche photographer sold the photos (although he claims they were “stolen” from his studio) to a distributor who then printed them. Clauson’s modeling agency even had an agreement with Parry that he would never release these images. So fuck him and fuck Urban.

Putting aside urban outfitters, why are the parents angry at this? Their daughter is a model, models are paid to pose suggestively and have the pictures plastered about. What else did they expect?

Um….am I the only one that doesn’t immediately see that as anything other than a kid sitting on a bike?

they’re pissed cause they want a cut of the proceeds, oh its alright for her to pose like that for a one time photo shoot and ad campaign but if it ends up on a tshirt they want some of the royalties I’m sure. Fuckem, I’m sure they signed a contract and its pretty aware they don’t take their parenting skills to seriously as they let her pose like that in the first place, tshirt or not. Aweful parents.

I am thinking about suing Urban Outfitters for stupidity.

How hard is it to just hire models over the age of 18 and avoid all the creepiness and complications.

your child is a model, what in the fuck do you think they do? sexualizing young girls is the norm in the fashion industry, so don’t act surprised and stick to modeling for JC Penny catalogs.

Well, it’s pretty obvious that it’s purposefully a crotch shot, but when your minor daughter gets a gig for a company like UO, you should know that there’s a good chance the pictures (like the company’s products and attitudes) won’t be in good taste.  If you take money from the devil don’t be surprised at the terms.
