Why You Should Be Furious About The Penn State Child Rape Scandal

This is the horrific and damning story of Victim 2. From the Grand Jury Report into the alleged and repeated rape of young boys by former Penn State Assistant Coach Jerry Sandusky. The report identifies at least 8 victims, but Victim 2 is the case that directly involved Head Coach Joe Paterno and the upper echelons of the Penn State hierarchy. The abuse that’s described, and the resultant cover up, is shocking.

      This whole mess at Penn State is a big mess and so disheartening. I am deeply trouble by the fact that McQueary did not what he was morally obligated to do:stop the rape. But I have read he will not be at their game on Saturday due to numerous threats and I can’t help but feel a little satisfaction that perhaps the one thing he coveted (his career) is over. I wonder if Penn State will keep him on and if they don’t, what school in their right mind would hire him? There are many “guilty” ones in this story, but let’s not forget the true MONSTER in this, Jerry Sandusky. My heart goes out to all victims of child abuse and I pray that Sandusky’s victims are not forgotten.

      while the grad assistant did do the right thing by informing his supervisor, how the fuck did he just walk out of the locker room and leave that poor kid there?!?! I would have pulled that sorry piece of shit off of the child and beat him senseless… but no, he just walked out and left the child there. who knows what else happened to that child that night? how long he could have been there suffering…? The grad assistant just walked away and was like “ehhh i’ll call joe tomorrow”… what the hell is wrong with people?!?!

      Seriously! I completely agree with annihilist. Who walks in on a rape and doesn’t try to help?! Like did see it occur and back away slowly, while doing the *innocent whistling stroll*? WTH. I would like to think that anyone, especially an able bodied man would walk in, see baby rape (or any other kind of rape), and immediately proceed to beat the offender’s ass.       The thing that amazes me is that the guy who saw this perverted freak abusing the kid, didn’t immediately pull him off the kid and hand him over to the cops, which is what any decent, right-minded person would and should do.       The laws surrounding reporting need to be changed in PA. You can see how every level this report went through the details get lost. It is the responsibility of the witness to call 911. The police will inform CPS.
