This article was written at a time when there was a backlash against feminist. Feminism pure and simple is nothing more than wanting to be treated with the same respect as anyone else. To receive equal pay for equal work. To be allowed the same opportunities as other people. Feminism asked for the same things that the Civil Rights movement asked for. The is always truth behind the joke. Even the reactions here show that the nerves that was touched was the female nerve. If someone wrote an article about how to cure Blacks who decided they wouldn't sit in the back of the bus of being so uppity, hopefully Whites would understand how demeaning that is to Blacks, serious or joking. Personally, I don't see much difference even if the target is women.

I see all the time articles on “How to change your man” in womens mags. Obviously this is a tongue in cheek article about how to “cure” the dreaded feminism. Lighten up people.

hmmm. this really makes me sick. you know, a while back my boyfriend stopped getting some magazine. idr what it was. they stopped producing it or something. something gaming or skating. they sent him maxims instead. he didnt request them. he just got them. i am so glad he canceled that subscription.

I do believe that Maxim is a magazine for insecure boys who want to have their immaturity rewarded. And so, I can only imagine that Gavon Laessig is such a boy still. This article is so stupid on so many levels. If you can't see why, a comment post on the internet probably won't help.
