Keith Olbermann Abruptly Leaves MSNBC
Without warning to his audience or colleagues, Keith Olbermann aired his last episode of Countdown on MSNBC tonight. Here’s video of his farewell. No official reason was given other than his contract was up, but many speculate his abrupt departure is related to Comcast’s takeover of NBC Universal. Lawrence O’Donnell will take over the time slot.

gonegonegone 2 years ago1. I guess I was one of the only people who saw this coming; Keith has been becoming more and more emotional on camera since his father died. His rants had become unwatchable. 2. Also goes to show that MSNBC, unlike FOX, actually knows when to let a screaming asshole go.

zacherym 2 years agoThis is just the beginning of what Comcast will do (based on previous behavior) now that they distribute what they own. I don’t watch msnbc, but I’m sure Olbermann, at some point, has spoken out against corporatism and in favor of net neutrality. Comcast wouldn’t like that. Comcast takes over, and a few days later, the msnbc’s (probably) most popular commentator is gone. This should be worrying, if you like the internet the way it is now.
