1. Pinky and the Brain
“What are we going to do today, Brain?”
“The same thing we do every day, Pinky. Try to take over the world.”
Chances are, if you were an avid viewer of this Steven Spielberg cartoon, you most likely found yourself quoting this line repeatedly. Heck, you probably still do.
2. Looney Tunes
“Ehh, what’s up Doc?”
There was nothing like turning on your TV early in the morning to see what mischief Bugs and his pals would be getting themselves into.
3. Tales From the Crypt Keeper
Who wouldn’t enjoy a bit of ghoulish fun in the morning, am I right? Well Tales From The Crypt Keeper offered just that.
Yakko, Wakko, and Dot were “zany to the max” and the proof was in the theme song.
5. Inspector Gadget
“Go, go gadget arms!”
“As if” you’d catch me missing an episode of Clueless.
7. Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
A show telling the story of a high school student just learning to use her magical powers with the help of her aunts Hilda and Zelda. Oh, yeah — and her talking cat Salem. Then there was the complicated relationship between Sabrina and Harvey.
Was there any reason to not love this show?
8. Hang Time
While many shows were all about the high school jocks and preppy cheerleaders, Hang Time decided it was time to showcase a girl finally being taken seriously after proving she can play on her school’s basketball team.
Who doesn’t love Girl Power?
9. City Guys
“C.I.T.Y you can see why…” this show was a favorite. (See what I did there?)
Not only was this show great, but the song was also always stuck in the old noggin. If only I remembered more than just the first 5 words…
10. Saved By the Bell
From the sound of a school bell to whenever anyone starts a sentence with “when I wake up in the morning,” it doesn’t take much to get memories of watching this show while still in your jammies to come flooding back. All, of course, while swooning over Zack Morris.
11. Ghost Writer
With a little help from their ghostly friend, this group of teenagers investigating crimes always got the job done.
12. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers literally kicked butt and I think we can all admit that at one point we wanted to be one of them.
13. Ready or Not
This Canadian classic was all about growing up with your best friend and going through the ups and downs of being a teenager together.
A classic part of the Saturday lineup was a show that just happened to be about our favorite part of the school day.
15. That’s So Raven
Hilarious, quirky, and at times out there with her techniques, Raven was at one point everyone’s spirit animal.
16. Even Stevens
The minute you saw claymation come on your screen, you knew one thing: Even Stevens was on. Which also meant being able to gawk over Shia LaBeouf. You know, when he was still “famous.”
17. Lizzie McGuire
It’s pretty safe to say that Hilary Duff was everyone’s BFF during her run on Lizzie McGuire. And she taught us that meeting your favorite pop star is always possible. (See “Aaron Carter is Coming to Town.”)
18. The Emperor’s New School
Adapted from The Emperor’s New Groove, this Disney Channel hit offered up the laughs, with Kronk and Yzma stealing the show a lot of the time.
19. The Weekenders
And lastly, it wasn’t the weekend until you watched The Weekenders.
- The Republican candidates for president will debate Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS for the first time after Donald Trump's runaway win in the New Hampshire primaries.
- MLB issued its first-ever lifetime ban for performance enhancing drugs to New York Mets' Jenrry Mejia.
