Tengu Long Nosed Goblin

Tengu (天狗, "heavenly dog") / Tengu Long Nosed Goblin are a type of legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion and are also considered a type of Shinto god (kami) or yōkai (supernatural beings). Although they take their name from a dog-like Chinese demon (Tiangou), the tengu were originally thought to take the forms of birds of prey, and they are traditionally depicted with both human and avian characteristics. According to wikipedia: the shrine was built in 937 on the half‐point in the climb to the top of Mount Fuji. It was built for worshipers and practitioner of austerities as holly place of mountain worship. And There is an ancient tradition that "Tengu" long‐nosed goblins were on the half-point in the climb to the top of Mount Fuji. That is why "Tengu" long‐nosed goblin was on this wood plaque. "Tengu" long-nosed goblin was worshiped as God of Bright Future Opener.
