11 Frustrating Things About Driving That No Longer Exist

1. Car phones that were really car phones.

Like, with cords. Twisty ones.

2. Hard-to-crank manual windows.

An appropriate response to, "Can you roll the window down?" was, "Are you kidding me? I'm EXHAUSTED."

3. Sun visors that wouldn't stay up because of all the CDs on them.

But it was totally worth it to show off how TOTALLY into music you were, bro.

4. Speaking of which, SCRATCHED CDs.

So many scratched CDs. All of the CDs. Scratched. No longer usable as music-providing devices.

5. Maps.

Maps folded in the glove compartment, maps rolled up in the side-door compartment, maps that you had to pull over to open and examine carefully.

6. The occasional tape.

Admit it: Sometimes you still popped in a single.

7. Rewinding tapes with a pencil.

Which requires you to a) pull over, b) find a pencil somewhere, and c) cry with frustration.

8. Not being able to adjust the volume from the steering wheel.

9. Actually turning your key to lock or unlock the door.

10. And having to walk outside to do it... in all seasons.
