i wonder why i'm so excited to know that james gandolfini is voicing one of the characters?

Cute trailer, the problem is that while the book was a beautiful and iconic children's story (props to my homie Maurice) it wasn't exactly exploding with tons of plot twists. I just hope it doesn't turn into basically one long and boring Beatles movie where music is playing and lots of “crazy stuff” is going on, but there's no real plot, and a one hour movie feels like a 10 hour movie.

I've always loved movie trailers—the best ones are little works of art that can be appreciated independently of the films they're meant to advertise. The two trailers for this movie have been like that—really, really well-edited, cool examples of the art of the trailer. Both of them (but especially the teaser) make excellent use of The Arcade Fire's “Wake Up”. I wonder if Jonze had a hand in them; the cathartic feel that both of them build up to seems very much in the vein of a music video.

Damn it! I wish October would hurry up and get here.
