I'm not thrilled about them remaking it, but I am pleased that Jackie Earle Haley is getting more work.
the first Nightmare was actually a damn good horror flick (and yes, the sequels admittedly sucked) that has probably earned its place in the canon of classic horror movies. Now Michael Bay has to go screw all that up witha bland remake cast by the same forgettable teen stars that they stick in every goddamned horror remake. Seriously, I hate Hollywood. It's nothing more than a recycling machine now.
I have a general guideline to not bother with any more remakes. If everyone decides to not bother with watching movies they know will be lousy (like 99.99999% of all remakes, movies based on video games, etc) then eventually they'll stop churning out the remakes for remake sake.
Remakes for the sake of remaking them sucks, but if you are going to reboot a franchise, at least be a tiny bit creative. I have not seen a good remake since John Carpenter rebooted “The Thing”…That's showing my age!
I know how this one ends…BTW, are they going to remake ALL the sequels too?
So, what kind of car does Freddy turn into?
see..no matter who, what or when they remake nightmare on elm street…its will NEVER ever be as good as the original, the last actual good scary movie that i saw had to be rob zombies house of 1000 corpses or the Devils Rejects, that shit was scary!!
I like seeing Jackie Earle Haley with hair, even if it's pretend.
They should have made it, you know, scary.
Count on Michael Bay to crap this one up, probably trying to ride the unexplainable success of Saw-style torture-porn. As long as he sticks to remakes of mediocre horror franchises I can look the other way. God forbid he ever try to touch Argento, Romero, or Fulci.
Let's see… Wes Craven's name is nowhere in the credits. Michael Bay's is. This. Will. Suck.
listen here mr. bay: don't. f*ck. this. up.
I hope they re-create the scene where Johnny Depp got sucked into the bed and the blood shoots out all over the damn place. That one always freaked me out.
I'm a sucker for horror movies. So even if it's a shitty remake [with Michael Bay involved??] I'll probably still see it.
the dude playing Freddy is Rorschach. Friggin Sweet.
I liked Rob Zombie's reboot of Halloween because it gave us a lot of insight into Michael Meyers as a person before he became The Shape. This just looks like a reboot for the sake of making one, and if you ask me, that's no reason to do it.
