Jacksonville has many names: J-ville, The Ville, Duval, 904, Sprawl City, River City and JacksonKILL (a reference to the fact that the city leads the state in murders).
Jacksonville isn’t the “First Coast” and people don’t call it that. The local news is called “First Coast News” referring to the area from Valdosta, GA down to Daytona Beach, but no one calls Jacksonville that.

I definitely recognize some of these, for instance in TX, there is Funkytown (Ft. Worth), the Metroplex (DFW), & ATX (Austin) but I’m not sure about the others. And this definitely isn’t just Twitter stuff, cause I don’t use Twitter.

As an experiment I looked up a couple of these. Everyone referring to “District 9” is referring either to the movie or California District 9. Everyone referring to Gotham is talking about Batman, except for one reference to the “Gotham Comedy Club.” So I agree with the posters below. This is made up.

But….Gotham is based on Chicago, not New York.
