At first I read the headline as Robert Pattinson. Then I thought, there’s no way that a guy who plays a sparkling vampire could be homophobic.

I don’t get why religious people point to Sodom as an example of the evils of homosexuality. THEY RAPED AN ANGEL. Pat Robertson even mentions that. That’s more than a little worse than consensual sex between two earthbound humans.  Even if you believe that the Bible is a 100% accurate tale of historical events, the Sodomites were guilty of a lot more than just buggery and sodomy is often used as more than just buggery as a result. Hell, if it’s just the common definition of sodomy that’s such a bad thing in God’s eyes, where are the big religious pushes against heterosexual anal sex? Oh, that’s right. It’s not supposed to make sense because it’s all people using the bible to justify their prejudices instead of keeping an open and tolerant mind. How very Pat Robertson-esque… of Pat Robertson…

So civilizations like Pompei or the ancient Aztecs and Mayans disappeared off the face of the earth because they were oh so very gay? Unless he’s trying to conversely say any civilization that has embraced traditional values has never fallen, I am not sure of his point, all civilizations eventually collapse, he’s just making up one bullshit reason that some of them may have and ignoring all the others that have for something otherwise.
