I live in a neighboring city, Fullerton, where about a year ago police tased and beat a schizophrenic homeless man to death. Perhaps some of you remember that. Granted, these incidents in Anaheim are more ambiguous at the very least, but I’m not willing to just take the police department’s word for it.

You’re in your 30’s, so I don’t expect you to remember the 1960’s when, you know, cops regularly brutalized minorities (including blacks and gays) and anti-war protesters. But I do expect you to remember the L.A. riots that happened in response to Rodney King’s beating and the acquittal of his assailants. Your “kids these days” schtick needs a little work.

Can’t we just put them both on an island somewhere and let them duke it out?
