A lawsuit filed by environmental groups and residents of the neighborhood against Lincoln Center argues that Damrosch Park, where fashion week takes place, isn't supposed to be used for commercial purposes as often as it is. While the CFDA regrets New York Fashion Week's interference with the Jewish holy days, they're asking New York's fashion community to suck it up. "The CFDA greatly respects and understands the importance of this holiday but, given the international calendar of European shows directly after New York, we do not have the option to shift the dates later," the council's memo states.
