The Definitive Breakdown Of Each Twenty-Something's Workweek

Certain days of the week are just known for being better than others.

Monday

Oh dammit.

The first thing that happens on a Monday is you realize how much you didn't get done last week. You frantically try to gather information about whatever catastrophe you have to address first, BUT you are also really freaking tired. So basically you run around trying to get work done but not really succeeding because you keep getting distracted and passing out on the toilet.

Tuesday

You see some improvements from Monday to Tuesday. People are finally getting off your back and you can focus better now. Your body is also adjusting to waking up early again so you're not as tired. But there's nothing cool or exciting about Tuesday so you find yourself depressed that the weekend is so far away. You may reminisce on the last weekend you had, just a mere two days ago. Hey, at least the effects of your hangover are finally gone. You're functioning as a normal human now.

Wednesday

Okay, work week. You're my bitch now.

Wednesday is easily the best day of the workweek for actually doing work. It's Hump Day so you can annoy your coworkers with that stupid (but genius) commercial with the camel. You might also have a Hump Day Happy Hour or Hump Day Taco Night planned. You're totally in work mode today, and your coworkers are so scared of your awesome confidence and aura that they don't bug you. Once the day is over, you're mostly though the week -- so you belt out "Take on Me" on your drive home.

Thursday

....and here's where we go downhill again.

Thursday was once described as "The First Friday of the Week." So true. You cranked out a ton of work yesterday so you're okay with being a little lazier today. Maybe you listen to your Christmas tunes (Mariah Carey, I love you) a little louder; maybe you check out a couple Buzzfeeds your friends sent you; maybe you Snapchat the sh*t out of yourself making dumb faces at your desk. Let's face it, there should be no big decisions made on this day. You get some work done, sure, but you're really thinking about your favorite TV shows or your six-pack that await you when you get home. Oh, and you can officially start planning the weekend around 8:00 am on Thursday so that's going to take up just about your whole day.

Friday

Holy crap, you made it.

Friday is shot. Forget getting work done. You should save all the little things you couldn't be bothered with on Wednesday for this day. Like ordering a new planner for 2014 or cleaning/organizing your desk -- you know, nothing that requires brainpower. If your boss and/or your boss' boss are not in the office on this day, why did you even come in? You know you're just going to read twenty Buzzfeed articles and then write one about how you never do work on Friday anyway and you could have done that from the warmth of your own home! Last minute plans for tonight and tomorrow are usually made during the afternoon, once your previously mentioned ordering and organizing is complete, your ninety-minute "lunch break" is over, and your music is playing way too loud. You try to arrange stack of Sh*t that Should've Been Done in a nice pile before you leave -- which doesn't really matter because you will hate yourself anyways on Monday.
