When's the last time Spin Magazine was even relevant? Where they ever relevant?

Radiohead is amazing. Spin sucks booty to the max. They want to push peoples buttons so they will go to the website and debate. Dumb. Appreciate whats still good about music which is bands like Radiohead.
-
Because Radiohead have become universally excepted as one of the great boundary pushing bands of our time, the only way to appear hip anymore is to bash them.
But Spin magazing will never be hip, no matter what they do. -
This guy seems to be whining because he wants Radiohead to release songs that are more mainstream and less experimental/interesting. I'm thankful for Kid A because it got me into electronic music. Radiohead bridges genres. If he wants them to resign to creating boring, generic music like Coldplay and U2, he should look elsewhere.

Reading the other myths, they are dying to sell some magazines.

@sh3rpa - i am glad you are not going to judge a band based on one song they wrote 17-motha-f*ckin-years ago. i hear they have written a few since then.

I seriously cannot believe that someone actually wrote this article. Boring?? A boring Radiohead concert? The two I attended were magical, engaging experiences, incomparable to almost any other show I have seen! Clearly, Mr. Norris, your heart must be made out of stone, never having allowed you to feel such musical joy.
-
Awwww…. Spin is under the impression that they're still relevant. I'd give this a “cute” badge but doubt anyone else would get it.
-
@ Sh3rpa - Stating opinion as fact is stupid, true. But stating opinion without expecting a defense is just as idiotic. The art we like becomes part of our character wardrobe. When I say your ugly shirt is ugly, you'll probably try and defend it. If I say the band you like is shit, I can expect the same thing. It's why it's stupid to go around telling people the shit they like is shit, unless you plan on having an open, grown-up, intelligent discourse using objective evidence to validate your stance. Boring, annoying, and Depressive are extremely subjective. So anyone who likes the thing you're using subjective terms to qualify is going to probably get upset. This isn't a defence of fans who get overly hyperbolic and upset towards criticism. But if you want to be whiny subjective dick about things people like, then you deserve whatever reaction you get.
-
@sh3rpa You make an excellent, well-reasoned point. The one thing you forgot is that Radiohead is objectively the greatest band in the world and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong.
-
I would never try and state my opinion as fact, sadly radiohead fans feel the need to do this whenever their favorite band is disliked in any way, shape or form. Indeed, radiohead is boring, depressive, annoying drivel to me. And yes I don't just judge them by “Creep”. To me they simply suck. I, however, do not claim anyone who does like them is a moron. Can radiohead fans say the same about those that don't want this band in their life?

the question isn't “What does Spin magazine say about this chart?”, the question is “What does this chart say about Spin magazine?”.
-
poorly written, poorly organized and anything but concise.
i was trying to give his argument a chance but really what the f*ck was his argument? -
Sounds like Spin may have absorbed some of the staff from Blender (which seemed to enjoy stirring the turd to sell magazines), and this kind of stuff is possibly part of the reason why Blender folded in a rough economy.
-
Wow, if it's being honest, then it's terrible. Because in no way, shape or form, at any time in the poorly written piece, does it explain why Radiohead Blows. I guess depends on your definition of “blow.” As far as I know, it means 'to suck.' So if the truth to the myth is that the band sucks, he never actually proves it. Meanwhile, if it's satire, it is just plain awful. What is it satirizing? It doesn't make any sense. The only reason I think it could be satire is because it's SO badly written it's hard to believe it's serious. For an example of good satire,
