If Yasser Arafat can get a Nobel Peace Prize , then yeah. It doesn't mean jack.

Why does it take an undeserved Nobel Peace Prize to get you liberals to admit that Obama really has not accomplished anything good yet?

I was under the impression he got this because of all the hope and unity he brought to the world for those first few months. Sure, it sounds cliche and cheesy, but it's true. He made everyone believe in America again.

Why did Obama win the Nobel Prize? He's the first leader of a nuclear power to seriously push for disarmament since the end of the cold war. He's already improved the situation vis a vis Iran and the rest of the world, he's making a serious push to improve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he's actively engaged with the Muslim world as a whole, and he was one of the first American politicians of national stature to speak out against the Iraq war.

I am a Liberal and I was against this when I first heard about it. I really hope Obama one day does something worthy of a Peace Prize but I just haven't seen it happen yet. So yeah, I was kind of feeling down about it. …and then I saw the Conservative response.  SO FUCK YEAH! OBAMA AND A MOTHERFUCKING PEACE PRIZE!

Obama wins Nobel Best-of-Intentions prize

Sorry, on GLBT civil rights, Obama is currently a big FAIL.

I'm all for him, but this cheapens it. Check in with him in 2012 or 2016 or even a while after that and think about it then, maybe, if warranted. Giving it now is like saying, “Hey great campaign, buddy. We hated that last guy!”

Also, this is the first Nobel Prize given in advance. President Obama will earn the Nobel in 2012 by singlehandedly quashing the great automaton rebellion of 2011. (Gorbachev will get the Nobel in 2012 for his role in German reunification, something he should have received in 2008.)

I think the Europeans must have gotten together and decided this would be a good 'pick me up' after losing the Olympics to Rio.

re January 20, 2009/February 1, 2009… Nomination is not the same as when he was voted for, nor is it the same as when he won. Chill out on those liberal-conspiracy theories.

Looks like the world is relieved we've taken the red button away from the dumb guy with the aggression disorder.

THAT is how glad the rest of the world is that the U.S. had a change in leadership.
