Copyranter has this powerful domestic violence-awareness ad for Women's Aid, which features Keira Knightley being beaten on set. It's all very meta, but in a way that adds to the unsettling nature of the subject matter without being pretentious. Brits have an uncanny knack for making dark, disturbing anti-violence PSAs, and this is one's no different. The spot was directed by Atonement director Joe Wright.

Amazing something like this hasn't been shown in the U.S. considering the massive amounts of violence already on tv.

Something like this is definitely needed here in the US. After the Chris Brown - Rihanna incident, I saw a lot of comments made by teenaged girls that Rihanna must have done something to deserve the beating. Obviously there's a desperate need for education on this subject.

Very edgy, it would resonate here really well, but sadly the P.C. police would see to it that this PSA never shows on cable or local television in the U.S.
