How exactly is validating someones immigration status, “racist?” There is merit in the argument that it will lead to legal immigrants being profiled based on the color of their skin, and that should certainly be guarded against, but at the heart of it - verifying someones legal status while investigating another violation seems like a no-brainer. I lived in the Netherlands Antilles for a couple of years and was required by law to carry my visa with me at all times. I was a guest in that country and behaved like any guest would, I didn’t feel like I was a target because the color of my skin or heritage was different than most peoples’ - It was their country, so I followed their laws.

We won the battle, but not the war. Remember when California legalized gay marriage, only for Prop 8 to come along and wrecked everything up? I have a feeling history may repeat itself in a similar way.

So it remains legal for illegals to work in AZ. How did justice prevail again? And before you tell some bullshit story about our economy depending on them, or that we’re somehow racist, or anything aside from “you sir, are correct,” — let me preemptively call your point moot based on the simple fact that “illegal” means “against the law.”
