As always i am never surprised at the lack of sensitivity on behalf of all mankind. Lets just remember that there are thousands of now unemployed people because of cc's poor business strategies there really is no need for sarcasm and overall dickishness. lets hope best buy doesnt face the same folly.

I stop by my local CC every few days, and most things are still only 20% off… yawn. I got so impatient I bought a GPS off Newegg w/overnight shipping and got it for $150 less than CC's “liquidate” price. Wake up, retailers! Do your homework! Guitar Center actually has “price match” internet terminals in the middle of the store… what a concept!

This is not advertising. This was clearly written and produced by someone in this particular store. Way to try to blow this out of proportion.

This is just as good as when they sent out emails offering “support” to Circuit City customers who purchased extended warranties, etc.

@martinchill: I would strongly advocate for a comma after “City” as well, to mark the dependent clause.

It's not mean-spirited or sarcastic — they're just protecting themselves from some dumbass that goes into BB and says “circuit city is selling this flatscreen tv for $40, you have to match their price because your sign says you will.” Dumbasses.

Of course, this isn't sarcasm as much as an attempt to protect themselves from having to price-match against the increasingly-discounted inventory of their quickly fading former adversary…
