    16. The Final Product

More than 1,800 knitters and crocheters pulled together to make nearly 600 blankets to help cover the Andy Warhol Bridge in Pittsburgh, PA over the weekend of August 10-11. Hundreds of hours of work went into this record-breaking project spanning the Allegheny River at 7th Street. For more info: KnitTheBridge.wordpress.com.

These blankets will all be laundered at the end of the project and then depending on their condition, donated to homeless shelters, nursing homes and animal shelters.
