Vijay Singh: 'At no time was I aware...'

Unfortunately Singh did not read the fine print.

Vijay Singh has unfortunately entered the point of no return as it relates to performance enhancing substances. He has admitted to using a substance created by S.W.A.T. (Sports with Alternatives to Steroids) called Deer Antler Spray, which contains a banned substance by every major sports league including the PGA Tour.

His reply to this is akin to oops I didn't know. He released a statement saying, "While I have used deer antler spray, at no time was I aware that it may contain a substance that is banned under the PGA Tour anti-doping policy," he said.

Every athlete is looking for that edge during competition and Singh is no different in this regard; the only difference is folks are going to question why the Fijian golfer has won more events in his 40s (eighteen) than he did in his 20s and 30s combined (sixteen). S.W.A.T. prominently lists the banned substance IGF-1 on their website for the world to see.

Unfortunately Singh did not read the fine print. He also stated, "In fact, when I first received the product, I reviewed the list of ingredients and did not see any prohibited substances. I am absolutely shocked that deer antler spray may contain a banned substance and am angry that I have put myself in this position."
