If Gilligan's Island gets picked up somewhere, our species is going to be in serious trouble.

I read somewhere that our radio frequency transmissions would become so degraded that no one outside of the solar system would be able to pick them up.

Back in the day, it was hard enough to get these broadcasts with a good pair of rabbit ears without covering them in aluminum foil and spending an hour trying to adjust them well enough to get a clear picture. So I doubt E.T. is hanging out on some alien planet watching Night Court.
