Sub-thread comment re-posted here because…well, because I want people to read the damn thing: I have always been stupefied by the “I couldn't help it” argument so often used by cheaters. Having said that though: There is a lot of solid evidence demonstrating that the judgment-impaired, throbbing-blood-to-both-heads, go-ahead-take-a-risk, drug-like high often felt by men in situations that lead to cheating on a spouse, has no real counterpart in women. I wouldn't accept that as an excuse—I've fought it off more than once and so have millions of other guys—but it's an important observation nonetheless. Any man who's discovered how ridiculously gut-wrenching and difficult it can be to exercise self-control after a certain point of arousal (which you'll remember can happen for guys in the blink of an eye with no emotional input whatsoever), knows that it is FAR, FAR easier to avoid temptation if at all possible than it is to try to think rationally or compassionately with a pair of engorged testicles and a brain temporarily swimming in chemicals that actively prevent rational thought.

Yeah, that'll save his marriage.

haha i live in the area and saw this.. no it wasn't a morning talk show gimmick, but he was interviewed on the a morning talk show this morning, he tries to explain everything and yeah he cheated on his wife..

What he did was wrong, but I'm not sure the best way to repair a relationship is to bring more humiliation into the mix. I don't see them making it very much longer. Get some counseling people!
