she's not the only one who has bullshit beliefs about lesbians. A few religious people I have know over the years think that if a woman is sexually abused or assaulted she may turn to women. Also, if she had her heart broken too many times. I can't speak for sexual assault victims, but I don't think women are that weak willed that we would give up on guys because of a few assholes and turn to vagina.

I'd like to know what “studies” she's referring to that say women are looking for companionship, not something sexual. To me, it sounds like it's something made up to back up her ignorant point of view.

She could be right, a little bit. I've know a few late-in-lifers that love being a lesbian, but also loved their husbands. I think it's all about where you feel loved, where you get the attention you need.  I also know women that are completely turned off by men. Maybe they just didn't realize it until they let themselves. So, I think she's got a valid point. It's very generalized, but there could be some truth to it.
