What To Buy From The Peter Pilotto For Target Line

The latest Target collaboration launches officially on Sunday Feb. 9, and I tried on the entire collection in advance. Here’s what’s worth buying — based on quality, fit and overall cuteness.

When the Peter Pilotto for Target collection launches Sunday, in stores, online, and at Net-A-Porter, people will be braving the elements to get their hands on these goods. If Thursday’s launch event in New York was any indication, the collection will sell out fast. The British designers, known for their bright colors and fun patterns, do not disappoint with this capsule collection and remind all of us why we can’t wait for summer.

There really is no such thing as too much color in your closet, but if you want to be selective — here are my picks.

3. This dress

This dress is definitely the prize piece from the collection. The design closely resembles Pilotto’s textile patterns and colors — as does the fabric, so you know it won’t rip after one trip to the dry cleaner. The style is very slimming on top, but beware the skirt is lined in tulle so the bottom has some bounce.

4. This skirt

Trade in your LBS — little black skirt — for this piece. The color scheme, or lack there of, makes this skirt extremely versatile. The pattern is quiet enough that it can be matched with any color top and the symmetric design is very flattering.

Price: $34.99

5. This shirt

Miranda Priestly and I would agree that there is nothing groundbreaking about florals for spring. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear florals! Also, the black stripes make this top feel a little less girly, and a little more funky.

6. This bathing suit

For those of us who are well-endowed on top, this bathing suit is seriously awesome. It has underwire, so it provides a lot of support. And the cups are quite large, providing a lot of coverage. The bodice also helps to make you feel like you’re NOT walking around in a bra and gives off an awesome 70s retro look.

Price: Bikini top is $22.99. Bikini bottom is $16.99.

7. These shoes

Sneakers are the new ballet flat. And these sneakers are ideal for summer. They’re super light weight and extremely comfortable. Like, walking 40 Manhattan blocks on a hot July day comfortable. The black and blue design is also subtile, so you can easily mix and match these with other patterns.

Price: $29.99

8. These sunglasses

If they’re cool enough for Alexa Chung, they’re cool enough for me.

Price: $16.99
Size Meter: One size fits all
